MFTA Program Policies

The terms below apply to all MFTA-organized activities. Please reach out via email (mitchellfranktennis@gmail.com) with any questions regarding the following information:

The policies below are active as of May 13th, 2025.

Participants in any activity organized by MFTA are responsible for the knowledge of all the information listed below. In an effort to formalize policies that are already in existence and for the fairness and safety of all players and coaches, transparency in the operations of MFTA is crucial. Please thoroughly review all information before signing up for any MFTA service.

For the purposes of these policies:

MFTA = Mitchell Frank Tennis Academy, LLC

Credit = services allowed to the original customer in order to be made up at a later date

Refund = repayment of money to the original customer, in partial or in full amounts

What should players bring?

  • Tennis racquet(s) and sneakers! (no sandals, open-toed, or backless shoes)

  • Water! Players should bring at least one full 16-oz water bottle for every hour they will be playing. Please ensure every water bottle is labeled with the player’s first and last name. MFTA is unable to provide water cups or water for players.

  • Sun protection (sunscreen, hat, cover-ups for off-court time). Please note: Coaches will not provide or apply any sunscreen to players. Please have players come prepared, already wearing sunscreen.

  • Snacks: Students are welcome to bring snacks for breaks during camps (and during normal class periods if medically necessary).

  • Other hygiene products, if desired: wipes, hand sanitizer, personal towel, change of clothing, extra shoes, hair ties, etc.)

Cancellation & Refund Policy

MFTA reserves the right to cancel classes due to unforeseen circumstances, including low enrollment. If a class is canceled due to reasons of MFTA’s responsibility, participants will be offered placement in a similar class at an alternate time or location. If participation is not possible, the customer will be offered a full refund. MFTA Cancellation decisions may be made up to a week before the start date of the affected class.

Refunds for any program or class will not be issued except under extraordinary circumstances. Participants are encouraged to confirm their availability and interest before enrolling in a class or clinic.

Any class, clinic, or session completed at least halfway through requires full payment, as it counts as a full session.

Participant Cancellation Deadlines:

  • Please see class-specific information sheets regarding cancellation fees and timelines.

  • Cancellations made less than one week prior to the start date of a class or camp (start of a session) will not receive any refund unless extraordinary circumstances are deemed necessary by MFTA on a case-by-case basis.

  • A cancellation fee will be applied to any cancellation request made within two weeks of the start of the sessions. The cancellation fee will be based on the registration fee you submitted.

    • For instance, a cancellation fee for a $100+ registration purchase will differ from that of a cancellation fee for $1,000+ registration purchase.

    • This is due to the fact that higher registration fees usually coincide with higher demand for that specific product.

*** No refunds will be retroactively awarded.

Make-up Policy

Make-up credit will only be given to players affected by programming changes due to MFTA’s responsibility, including, but not limited to, weather and unforeseen circumstances.

Make-up credit will not be given for reasons outside of MFTA’s responsibility, including, but not limited to, vacation, personal time conflicts, or unintentional absences.
In the use of make-up credit, one cannot use it unless the player plays all 5 days of the week. This means that if a player wishes to use their credit for 2 days, they must sign up for the whole week to use it.

If a player must miss a scheduled class or camp due to illness or injury, proper documentation must be provided.

***Retroactive credit will not be granted for sessions that have already been completed.

***Make-up sessions MUST be made up by the end of the month in which they were given. Ex: If a student is given a make-up session on May 3, 2026, the student must use it by May 31, 2026.

Weather Policy

It is at MFTA’s discretion to deem if the weather conditions permit the cancellation of any class or camp. If MFTA deems it safe to play and hold practice, the lack of player participation will not permit credit, prorated rates, or any refund for a missed class or camp. Any class/clinic in which half of the scheduled time is completed will be counted as a full session and will not be eligible for a refund or make-up credit.

Clinics (Future Stars and Elite):

  • Any day in which two hours of camp are completed counts as a full day of camp and will not permit any make-up credit or refund.

  • Players will receive make-up credit for any days canceled due to weather.

  • Refunds are not issued for weather-related cancellations.

  • Make-up days must be used within the same session in which the player is enrolled.

Rec Programs:

  • Three weather cancellations are built into the package price of five or six-week session bundles. Therefore, players who signed up for the session will not receive make-up credit until the third weather-related cancellation.

  • Five weather cancellations are built into the package price of nine and ten-week session bundles. Therefore, players who signed up for the session will not receive make-up credit until the fifth weather-related cancellation.

  • Players signed up by the week or by the day are permitted one make-up day for each day of class missed due to weather cancellations.

  • Refunds are not issued for weather-related cancellations.

  • Make-up days must be used within the calendar year from the date of the canceled class.

MFTA will inform participants of weather-related cancellations as soon as possible.

***Weather cancellations will be posted on the homepage of the MFTA website. Please check there for updates. If no cancellation is posted, the class/camp will be held.

Payment Policy

MFTA requires that all payments be made in full at the time of the booking. If joining a class or camp that has already begun, the cost will be prorated, and payment will be due in full at the time of the booking (see further details below).

*Larger payments for camps (Rec, Elite, and Future Stars) may be paid in two installments. Please contact mitchellfranktennis@gmail.com with requests.

Rec Program Rates:

  • Prices for recreational programming are available on the individual registration page for each class. This is due to variations in club schedules and price differences between members and non-members.

Elite Program Rates:

  • See individual season info or email mitchellfranktennis@gmail.com

Fall/Winter/Spring 2026:

  • Please see the information flyers for the corresponding season. If you have not received them, please contact MFTA.

Future Stars Rates:

  • See individual season info or email mitchellfranktennis@gmail.com

Fall/Winter/Spring 2026:

  • Please see the information flyers for the corresponding season. If you have not received them, please contact MFTA.

Payment Policy:

  • We will send a 10-day notice to any parent who has not paid within 1 week of the first invoice being emailed.

  • If payment for the remaining classes is not received within the 10-day notice period, a $20 late fee will be applied to your total balance. This fee will continue to accumulate weekly until payment is received.

If a player wishes to join at the weekly rate, they must notify MFTA by the end of the second day of the week (Tuesday) to receive a prorated weekly price rather than the daily rate for the remainder of the week.

No prices, except as noted above, will be prorated unless weather cancellations occur before two hours of camp are completed.

Safety Policy

It is the responsibility of the parent(s) or guardian to inform MFTA of any medical condition that may affect a player’s health or ability to safely participate in physical activity, including, but not limited to, asthma, allergies, diabetes, and physical or mental concerns.

If a player is sick, they shall not attend any class or camp for the safety of other players and coaches.

MFTA is not liable for any injury that may occur during class, camp, or any MFTA-organized activity.

Players will never be left alone on the courts. If it rains while players are on the courts, players and coaches will seek cover in the closest safe space. Players and coaches will remain under cover until the rain stops or practice ends.

Conduct: Respect is of the utmost importance on and off the courts. We have a zero-tolerance policy for bullying, disrespect, abusive behavior of any kind, discrimination, and obscene language or behavior. Players who violate the MFTA conduct policy will immediately be taken out of the class, will not be able to participate in any future MFTA programming, and will not receive credit or a refund of any amount.

*** Please note that specific conduct policies may vary by court location. For conduct policies relating to recreational clubs, please refer to their website. MFTA abides by all policies of recreational clubs.
