Hailing from Richmond, Virginia, Dr. Tobias Keene brings a bit of unabashed Southern hospitality to all his patients. He moved to Washington, D.C. over thirty years ago as a freshman at Ivy College. Right after graduation, he attended World University’s School of Dentistry. Before opening Keene Dental in 1994, he worked for free clinics and some of the finest practices in the District. He is part of the 123 Dental Association and stays up-to-date on the latest dental discoveries. He grew up surrounded by UVA tennis and became one of the top players in the Mid-Atlantic in the 12-and-under. At the age of 12, Andrew quit tennis to focus on other sports such as baseball and wrestling. During his junior year in high school, Andrew picked up tennis again and met Mitchell Frank shortly after. Andrew went from being a non-rated player to being recruited to play tennis at the University of Mary Washington (Ranked Among the Top 20 in the nation for Division 3). During his time at Mary Washington, Andrew became a Division 3 All-American and an NCAA semifinalist, and posted wins over George Mason, James Madison, and many of the top teams in Division 3. Andrew has been coaching tennis for the last 5 years. He started his coaching career by working with underprivileged kids in the Charlottesville area. Andrew has served as a mentor to many kids at the Mitchell Frank Tennis Academy over the last couple of years and began to work at the academy this past summer. During the summer, Andrew has worked with kids in the recreational and elite programs. During his junior career, Anton was ranked No. 1 in the Mid-Atlantic in the 12s, 14s, 16s, and 18s divisions, won two USTA Gold Balls at the National Championships, and reached as high as the Top 20 in the Boys’ 18s. At Vanderbilt, Anton played singles positions 2 through 6 and competed at the No. 2 and No. 3 doubles positions against some of the nation's top collegiate players. Anton’s coaching experience includes working privately with junior players, coaching at Junior Tennis Champions Center in College Park, and coaching at Columbia Country Club. He was also mentored by respected coach Vesa Ponkka and has worked with top competitive junior players. Anton is passionate about helping players of all ages and levels improve their technique, footwork, consistency, strategy, and confidence on the court.
